A visa is not required for a stay of less than 90 days

Travellers to Guyana must have a passport valid for six months or more. The duration of the stay without formalities is limited to 90 days, beyond which a residence permit must be applied for.

It is advisable to enter the country via an official entry point (land). It is particularly risky to enter Guyana illegally, even for a few hours, as the penalties, which include imprisonment, can be very severe.
